Ametek WDG-IV UOP and WDG-V UOP Oxygen Analyzers

The Ametek Thermox WDG-IV UOP and WDG-V UOP analyzers are specialized instruments built for reliable low-level oxygen measurement in UOP Continuous Catalyst Regeneration (CCR) processes. These analyzers were developed in partnership with UOP requirements to monitor oxygen during the regeneration cycle where oxidation removes coke from the catalyst. They help prevent thermal damage and support efficient conversion of paraffins and naphthenes to aromatics in hydrocarbon processing.

Using a specially treated zirconium oxide cell that withstands halogen oxidation effects, the analyzers deliver consistent performance. A nitrogen-operated aspirator draws the sample gas from the catalyst regenerator, passing a portion over the zirconia sensor before returning the sample to the process since the aspirator gas contains no oxygen. All wetted parts are heated above the dew point to eliminate corrosion risks, with Hastelloy probe options available for added durability.

Key features include high reliability, optional or standard dual isolation valves for sensor replacement without process shutdown, and proven track record since 1980 in CCR applications. The WDG-V version builds on this with advanced WDG-V electronics platform offering predictive diagnostics, proactive alarms, SIL-2 capability, and improved digital communications.
